Barrier-free diving

The small town of Los Cristianos is exceptionally wheelchair friendly, with an uninterrupted 8km of barrier-free promenade to enjoy. The beach next to the dive centre (Playa Las Vistas) offers accessible sunbathing areas, showers, toilets and changing rooms. Several of the nearby hotels have some wheelchair access, but for 100% peace of mind on this front, we recommend the Mar y Sol, a delightful hotel in Los Cristianos welcoming able-bodied and disabled guests, with total wheelchair access to all areas and every possible need catered for (see our accommodation section for more information, or visit the Mar y Sol Hotel website).

Aqua-Marina frequently welcomes disabled divers. We have available a wheelchair designed to traverse sand and enter the water to get divers as close as possible to the RIB, or to make shore dives from the local beach. Our instructors all have Disability Awareness certification from BSAC and can teach BSAC courses, which can be modified to recognise mobility issues. We are the appointed dive centre of the above-mentioned Mar y Sol Hotel and therefore have access to their pools for confined water training even for students not resident at the hotel. Wheelchair friendly 'Taxis for all' can provide the transport between hotel and dive centre for just a few euros.
